In 2004, the Geraldton Port Authority entered a new era with an enhanced Port providing new opportunities for the Mid West region. The new Port allows up to Handymax size ships to be fully laden in Geraldton with Mid West grain, minerals and ore, as well as fertiliser and fuel imports, saving millions of dollars and creating an opportunity for economic growth for the local and State economy.
